We are pleased to invite your contribution to the 2nd International Iron and Steel Symposium (IISS’15) organised by Iron and Steel Institute, Karabuk University, Karabuk, Turkey, on 1-3 April 2015. IISS’15 is an international event, which the first symposium took place on 2-4 April 2012 (http://iiss12.karabuk.edu.tr), is aimed at to cover significant advances and developments worldwide in the iron and steel industry. This International Symposium covers, but not limited to, Iron Steel production, Metallurgy and materials, Row material procurement, Forming & machining, Heat treatment, Welding and cutting, Casting, Coatings & corrosion, Automation, Energy & environment, Marketing & finance, Publication & advertisement.

Special panels of industry experts are organised and invited speakers from national and international academia are invited. Selected presentations will be honoured and high-quality papers will be invited to special issues of international journals.

The 1st International Iron and Steel Symposium was held on April 2-4, 2012 at Karabuk University in Karabuk, Turkey. The aim of the Symposium was to bring together academics, researchers and engineers, iron and steel manufacturers, exporters and importers, and non-governmental organizations around the world to share and discuss their latest works and the new methodologies to improve the structure and properties of iron and steel products. The Symposium included invited keynote lectures and submitted papers in all aspects of the iron and steel industries.

1st International Iron & steel symposium (IISS’12) became a successful event with 192 papers submitted. The papers from 9 countries were contributed. The Symposium paper topics include, metallurgy and materials, casting, coating and corrosion, heat treatment, welding and joining, forming and machining, energy and environment, marketing and finance, automation, and Occupational safety and healthy and others. The papers reflect the growing interest in Iron & steel technologies.
